Commando Cody (picture above) fights the moon men in an effort to escape Retik, who plans to disintegrate him with a ray-pistol blast...

How can he possibly escape from this blast at the end of the first episode?

Options:

1) Cody doesn't escape, he dies (his body is acrobatically rescued by a colleague and will be resuscitated later on in the serial).

2) The shot hits the machine in front of Cody, but Cody had already jumped away behind a nearby couch.

3) The shot hits the machine and ricochets back and hits the guy who shot it. In the commotion, Cody successfully runs for the exit.

4) By the time the shot hits the machine behind which Cody was apparently hiding, Cody had managed to fly off up into the air out of reach of the gun blast.

5) Something else happens.
